Last Friday, a sea of green interrupted the terrifying thought of an impending organic chemistry test.
The senior and house prefects paraded in front of the Schoolhouse, music blaring and confetti falling, to announce Surprise Holiday. Without classes for the rest of the day, everyone filled the forum for announcements, celebrations, and an array of doughnuts. Then, after a short soccer practice, my friends and I loaded buses to Boston.
Once we arrived in the city, we made plans to visit various restaurants that the small town of Groton lacked—Chipotle and Shake Shack. After a few fabulous meals, we explored the city, picking up a few items for the dorm along the way and indulging in Eataly’s finest gelato. Following a tiring day wandering around Boston, falling asleep on the bus back punctuated an entertaining and rejuvenating holiday.
